AROUND THE BLOCK
ADVANCED DESIGN | FALL '13

This project, located in the outskirts of Paris, strives to enrich the experience of public space, which moves from park to rail, by folding and pulling it through our building. This space is then enhanced by strategically placing public programs.
The void generated by the park carves into the site, making a path to the railroad and to the panoramic views of Paris. Smaller voids are then created, making proper space for specific uses. The voids are penetrating the solid of the block creating public spaces of different hierarchy and status. The voids are then connected by means of physical and visual permeability creating additional connections between park and railroad, natural and artificial ground and different programs.
